Mine Planning Design

Having the ability to calculate the cost-benefit of a mine design option or process stream gives a mine-site foresight into a design that maximizes output.

As part of its mine design capability, Opencontour also offers linkage between mine schedules, fleet management, stockpiling, road string management, ore and waste management, and other critical mine plan inputs. This is aimed at decreasing the time needed for iterations on a plan.

By integrating all planning tasks into one software, Opencontour makes mine design and planning easier.

Web-Based Application

With Opencontour’s web-based interface, engineers can quickly import base surface contours and block models to rapidly design pit phases and generate graphical representations. This makes planning and reviewing mid-bench contours, geotechnical inter-ramp angles, and other design requirements a straightforward process.

Mid-Bench Contours

Due to their complexity, three-dimensional surface trigonometry functions are more challenging to understand and apply.  Our solutions allow for easy creation and editing of two-dimensional polygons due to the absence of triangulated surface errors. Toe and crest lines can later be added.

Data Visualization

Reports and scenario-based analyses can be improved through data visualization. Take advantage of our pre-populated charts & graphs while having the ability to generate customized data visualizations via Plotly (3rd Party API).

Mine visualization can also be created in 3D or 2D contour format, efficient generation of period maps, final topography after cutting/filling, extensive set of 3D tools available for viewing geometry features.

CAD Functionality & Base Contours

CAD feature drawing and editing, project settings stored on a web server, drag and drop design files, feature editing/saving, DXF/CSV input, and output.

Use mine site topography to build the base contour layer for your site.

Design Cutters and Fillers

Design cutter or filler shapes/contours (pits, dumps, or heap leach pads) with mine topography. Apply geotechnical functionality (slope design) for multiple domains, ramp building efficiency, design open pit phases, dump designs, and heap leach pad lifts, mid-bench, or Toe/Crest lines.

Block Model

Import block model CSV files with or without filtering capabilities, model label viewer, custom legend for color code data viewing, open pit or heap leach pad model viewing.

Scripting & Charting

Java Scripts are used to edit/add data to the mine plan at the block model level, plans can be simple, or complex based on the number of added properties, scripts define financial analysis parameters, scripts can be easily edited providing iterations on your mine plan.
Choose between creating your custom chart or utilizing the pre-built charts available within the software (Financial Charts, Grade Tonnage Curves, etc.).

    We recognize that not all mining projects are the same. Before signing up, our team will discuss data quality, team skillset, time frames, training and development, and metallurgical support.
  • What input/output data formats does Opencontour support?
    Opencontour supports DXF, CSV, and .json files.
  • How secure is my data on the Opencontour platform?
    Our SaaS Software was designed so that all data is stored locally on your browser software (Chrome, etc..). This means that only you own and control the data without security risk. Our servers do not store any of your data.
